Gutter Protection
Gutter Protection
Gutter protection helps prevent leaves, bird’s nests, and other debris from entering and clogging your gutters. Clean gutters mean an even flow of water. If water is not flowing properly, costly damage to your gutter system and your home can occur. Minimize your gutter maintenance with one of our leaf protection systems. Van’s Rain Gutters installs gutter protection to new and existing gutter systems.
Choosing Gutter Protection
Gutter protection is essential for preventing debris from clogging gutters and causing water damage. Choosing the right one for your home depends on your property’s surroundings, roof type, and budget.
Van’s Rain Gutters will assess the amount and type of foliage near your home. This will help us determine the best gutter protection to prevent debris buildup and deter animals from nesting. We also consider the material and slope of your roof, opting for a model that best accommodates your roof’s unique characteristics.
Van’s Rain Gutters knows that it is essential to strike a balance between initial costs and long-term value. That’s why we proudly offer durable, cost-effective gutter protection that will actively protect against potential damage to your home’s foundation — saving you money on repairs and replacement in the future.
If you are still unsure which gutter protection is ideal for you, our expert team will examine your property to recommend the ideal product for your home’s needs.
Gutter Protection Products
Van’s Rain Gutters offers several types of gutter protection products. We will recommend the one that is best suited for your home:

Leaf Blaster
Leaf Blaster is a stainless steel micro mesh product that can be installed in most gutter to roof scenarios. It is good for all foliage and is best used to prevent small leaf and pine needles from penetrating and clogging your gutter system, downspouts and underground drains.
Shur Flo/Gutter RX/Leaf Relief
These products are perforated aluminum panels. The low profile makes it virtually invisible from the ground. This type of drop-in gutter protection is used for most foliage. We have found that it is not the best for applications where pine trees are in close proximity.
Leaf X
Leaf X is a helmet-style, all-aluminum product. This type of gutter protection is constructed of a solid one piece aluminum panel. Its heavy-duty bull-nosed-style construction can stand up to extreme conditions and protect your gutter system. It can be used for most types of foliage. We have found that it is not the best for applications where pine trees or tulip poplars are in close proximity.

Gutter Protection FAQ
Is gutter protection worth the investment?
Absolutely! Clogged gutters lead to costly repairs and maintenance. Gutter production saves you time, money, and hassle by preventing clogs and ensuring smooth water flow.
Can I install gutter guards myself?
While DIY is certainly possible, professional installation is highly recommended. Improper installation can compromise effectiveness and even damage your gutters.
How long does gutter guard installation take?
Depending on the size of your home, a new installation typically takes anywhere from a few hours to a day.
If I have gutter protection on my gutters, how often should I have to get my gutters cleaned?
In theory, you should never have to clean out your gutters once gutter protection is installed. However, in reality, leaf protection is to be maintained just like all other components on the exterior of your home. Even though gutter protection keeps leaves and debris from entering the gutter system, they may build up on top of the gutter protection, restricting flow.
Each type of gutter protection requires different maintenance intervals; this largely depends on the amount of foliage on your property and its proximity to your home. We recommend an annual visual inspection of the system to ensure that your gutter system is working properly.
What type of gutter protection is available and how do I decide which is best for my gutters?
Van’s Rain Gutters installs various types of gutter protection. Once your property is assessed, we will make a recommendation based on the following factors: type of gutter system (existing or new), style of gutter installation, steepness of the roof, type of roof shingles, type or amount of foliage on your property, and proximity to your home.
